When James Lipton speaks, you just gotta listen! How does he do that?!

The "Inside the Actor's Studio" host was interviewed outside the Ivy last night -- uh, what's he doing there?! Lipton was asked by TMZ how he would conduct an on-the-spot interview for his show, and Lipton elegantly responded that he prepares two weeks in advance for each guest, and therefore wouldn't be able to perform. No spontaneous remarks for this man!

The gracious host, who could double for Rip Torn, seems to make everything around him just a bit classier -- and he turns 81 this month! Take that, Grim Reaper!

5. I love INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO. Despite name-calling ["insufferable windbag", etc.] by other posters, I think James Lipton does a fantastic job with his guests. I don't doubt that I would be speechless if I met my favorite actors, actresses, etc. Mr, Lipton asks most of the questions I would ask if I had the opportunity to speak with them. Along with the fact that he started his career on my favorite 26-year addiction, GUIDING LIGHT, I can't wait for INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO to return. Bravo to him!

8. Lipton is creepy. Has anyone looked at his long azz winded resume? It should be edited done, that is all I can say.

Ever notice Lipton silent sneer masked as a longing envy of those he interviews? He's a closet sycophant in a passive aggressive way. I can't stand the guy.

10. Does anyone else think this creepy looking dude is a double for that fellow who leads the "Church of Satan"? I think his name in something like...Anton Levet.
