Paris Sues Hallmark -- You Care Enough to Rip Me Off

TMZ has obtained a lawsuit filed by Paris Hilton against Hallmark Cards, claiming they used her likeness without permission. Not cool!

In the lawsuit, filed yesterday in Federal District Court in Los Angeles, the heiress alleges Hallmark created a card entitled "Paris's First Day as a Waitress." The card features a picture of Paris' face superimposed over a cartoon of a waitress serving food that says "Don't touch that, it's hot. What's hot? That's hot."

Paris is suing for damages in excess of $100,000, claiming Hallmark "failed to properly obtain [her] approval." Guess not!

A rep for Hallmark told TMZ "Some of Hallmark's new humor greeting cards are parodies of today's most popular celebrities and politicians. These cards take a satirical look at news and gossip surrounding these public figures, including Paris Hilton, and we do not believe Hallmark has violated any of Ms. Hilton's rights."

76. oh gee, all the Paris-bashers have come out of the wood work again!!

Maybe you all need to go back to law school, because what Hallmark is doing is clearly illegal and if it were any other celeb that you liked, all you bashers would agree.

Oh and for the record, Paris has been working professinally and earning her own living since she was 16 years old. She could just sit around live off her family's money, but clearly she does not! Also, her grandfather has NOT cut her our of his will.

so put away your jealousy & get a life , haters!!! You sound so petty, which is more of a bad reflection on you than anything you say actually represents p.h.

83. I had no idea that Hilton actually trade-marked the phrase, "That's hot." I don't think a lot of us did. If this is true, then perhaps she has some legal ground. Putting that aside, I think it's hysterical that she actually trade-marked a phrase that's been around for decades..and one that was actually frowned upon as a bit cheap. Unbelievable.

yes its gone and am stunned at how this site only lets certian comments get posted, i just happened to to see your link and did read it, finally some truth to this woman and i will NEVER forget her face at the MTV awards before she went to jail, when they put her down, the look on her face was priceless, she wanted to slide under her seat LOL..thanks for posting that link and i really cant stand this site after seeing how they post only what they want, i believe it was george another poster who said this as well, its really true! and the canadians can't be fooled and they are very wise!
